Forward Deployment Lead
Company
NestAI is Europe’s fastest-growing physical AI lab. We build open, sovereign, and reliable autonomous systems and AI-enabled command capabilities for real-world operations — environments where reliability isn’t optional.
Our work spans defence, security, and other mission-critical domains where systems must earn trust through performance, not promises. At the core of what we build is an open, modular, and interoperable AI command foundation that integrates data from multiple sources — from UAV sensors and edge devices to situational intelligence platforms — and turns it into decision support and operational capability.
Rooted in Nordic engineering heritage, we focus on openness, reliability, and systems that earn trust through performance. We work with intent, iterate fast, and build technology that protects what matters most.
Role Description:
We are looking for a Forward Deployment Lead to join our team full-time in the Helsinki or Tampere Metropolitan Areas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer deployments in a multi-team environment, delivering end to end physical AI systems.
This role is in our Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team. You will be the critical link between our core product developers and the engineers embedding directly with our customers to integrate our AI solutions. You will manage the logistics, technical roadmaps, and client relationships required to deploy our software solutions into real-world operational environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Forward Deployed Coordination: Act as the operational backbone for our FDE teams, coordinating the integration, deployment, and customization of our AI products directly at client sites.
Serve as the primary connection point between team working with client, core product engineering, and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring field requirements are translated into core product milestones and vice versa.
Lead technical deployments from initial use case planning and data gathering to final capability handover and training.
Adapt and champion agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) to optimize the velocity of field teams who are often dealing with shifting client priorities and unique technical roadblocks.
Creating roadmaps, schedules, tracking deliverables and managing risk/dependencies. Managing budgets and capacity for efficient resource allocation and execution.
Qualifications:
MSc (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
Strong professional experience and track record (10+ years) as a project management professional in the technology industry, managing complex, multi-team projects with proven product deployments.
Prior experience managing field engineering teams, forward deployed operations, or complex enterprise software integrations directly at customer sites.
Ability to create operational clarity for developers, executives and customers.
Understanding and experience with Jira or similar Agile tools & metrics.
A strong, demonstrated interest or prior experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or defense/aerospace technologies is a definite plus.
Startup Readiness (experience considered as plus): You are comfortable with ambiguity, highly adaptable, and willing to roll up your sleeves. You know how to build processes from the ground up rather than just following existing ones.
Why join NestAI
At NestAI, you’ll build meaningful, real-world technology as part of a world-class team of engineers, scientists, and experienced professionals. You’ll work on systems where reliability genuinely matters, contribute to Europe’s security and resilience, and solve problems that demand depth, trust, and craftsmanship.
If you want to build with purpose — and with leading experts in the field — you’ve come to the right place.

About NestAI
Physical AI is moving from theory to reality. The systems being built today will shape how societies protect people, operate critical infrastructure, and respond under pressure for decades to come.
At NestAI, close to 100 engineers and scientists work at the intersection of software, hardware, and AI — developing autonomy, sensing, and command capabilities for mission-critical use. This isn’t demo work. It’s real systems, built for real environments.
We build in Europe, with open and interoperable architectures, so that critical capabilities can evolve over time without lock-in — and remain accountable to the societies they serve.
